Top Tourist attractions in Nice

To get a real taste of Nice and its historical past, you may want to take a trip to Saint Nicolas Orthodox Cathedral. This was built during 1859, and there claims that it is the oldest Russian Cathedral in Europe. The cathedral was built by the Russian government, and has some very interesting design features as a result of this.

Shopping in Nice

Due to the vast size of Nice, there are a range of different stores to stroll around during the day. The Old Town is a great place for a Nice shopping experience as the period features upon the buildings allow you to become immersed within the history and culture. Here you will find typical shops as well as unique stores including delicatessens, souvenirs shops and vintage boutiques. You may also want to visit Galeries Lafayette – the home of many main department stores. Here you can find quality designer clothes, accessories and beauty products from European brands that you would not find in the UK.

In the centre of Nice, take a stroll along the Avenue Jean Medecin to Nice Etoile. There are an abundance of stores to peruse within this district, which sell everything from books to clothes, and CDs to home ware. To immerse yourself even further into the French culture, go along to the Cours Saleya flower market on Tuesdays and Sundays. Here you can attempt to speak the French language as you purchase the flowers on offer.

Nightlife in Nice

The range of bars and clubs in Nice means that there is something to suit the tastes of the each and every tourist who visits. There are Latin night clubs where you spend evenings dancing to samba and salsa beats. You can also stop at Le Relais to enjoy the plethora of different drinks and cocktails on offer. For those who prefer UK entertainment, Nice even has establishments such as William’s Pub and Scarlett O’Hara Irish Pub.
