Playa Postiguet
Playa Postiguet is the perfect beach for holidaymakers due to its central location. You can go straight from the beach to the bar or shops as all within walking distance of each other. This handy little beach is also great for sunbathing and swimming due to its great length, this also means that visitors don’t get too cramped on the sands. However during the summer months it is ideal to get there early as Playa Postiguet is one the most popular beaches within Alicante.
How can you get there?
The central location of Playa Postiguet makes it extremely easy to reach. Its closeness to the Marina means that it is extremely convenient as you can simply walk to the sands after an afternoon in town. It is also positioned close to the foot of Mount of Benecantil, meaning that you can enjoy powerful and breathtaking views as you sunbathe.
If you are staying slightly outside of the central areas, you may wish to visit the beach by car. There is an underground parking facility opposite the Hotel Sol Melia and there are also buses and trams that stop right outside Playa Postiguet.
What will you find there?
During the summer season, which runs between the 15th June and the 15th October, there will be lifeguards ensuring that everything is safe in the sea and sand. The huge numbers of visitors who descend upon the beach means that a Red Cross port, foot shower and toilets are also provided. These facilities add to the cleanliness and top quality services which Playa Postguet provides for its visitors.
As the beach is situated close to both the Explanada de Espana and the Paseo de Gomiz, you can also visit the shops during your day at the beach. This is perfect for those midday hours when the sun becomes too unbearable for sunbathing. You can sit in one the cafes or restaurants running along the streets, and enjoy a bite to eat or a cool drink under the shade of an umbrella. The shops will also help to enhance your beach experience as many sell buckets, spades and other beach paraphernalia.
