Freytag & Berndt Maps

Freytag & Berndt has road maps and atlases for cities, countries and large regions all over the world. These products are large, detailed and informative.

They are printed in color on both sides of the paper and show main and secondary roads. Ferry crossing sites and routes are also indicated. There are symbols for places of interest such as churches, antique sites, caves, monuments, marinas and airports.

Distances between destinations are given in kilometers. If you're used to distances in miles, you'll have to make conversions.

Attached to each road map is a booklet with an extensive index of cities and towns. The booklet also contains colored city maps showing major points of interest in downtown areas of major cities.

Because the Freytag & Berndt products are very large and printed on both sides, it can be a little bit awkward using them.

For example, the road map of Great Britain and Ireland shows Scotland, part of northern England, and Northern Ireland on one side. To see the rest of England, Wales and the southern part of Ireland, you have to look at the other side. When you turn it over, you have to be mindful of the attached information booklet.

Also, Freytag & Berndt maps are on paper. It's good quality paper, but with repeated, heavy usage, they might not hold up well.
