Frommer's Travel Guides
Frommer's travel guides cover large regions, individual countries and major world cities. These guidebooks are packed with valuable information, including a range of hotels, restaurants and attractions for different budgets.
Frommer's has a number of different series designed for
different kinds of travelers. There are books for those on a
budget and for those who like quirky, independent travel that avoids overrated tourist traps.
There are also books for the traveler who wants to visit many places in a country or region, and there are books for those who want to plan quick getaway trips. Scroll down to see our list of Frommer's travel guides. We've looked at and reviewed all of them.
Frommer's offers candid reviews of hotels, restaurants and attractions, usually in the large cities. There aren't as
many suggestions for those who want to venture out into the countryside and enjoy smaller places off the beaten track.
These guides are updated every year. Even so, hotels, restaurants, and sightseeing attractions do change, and even the most current guidebook may sometimes have incorrect information.
Even though Frommer's books have suggestions for a range of budgets, what they call "inexpensive," may very well be out of the question for those traveling on a shoestring budget. For those who fall into that category, check out Let's Go, Lonely Planet Shoestring, and the Rough travel guides.
