Michelin Travel Guides

The Michelin travel guides have been in existence for over 100 years. They are primarily aimed at travelers who want to drive to their destinations (hopefully in cars that have Michelin tires). They may not be the best choice for backpackers or for people who are traveling by bus or train.

There are two main types of Michelin guides: the Green Guides which have colorful maps, travel itineraries and descriptions of a destination's main highlights; and the Red Guides, which have the world-famous Michelin ratings of hotels and restaurants.

There is also a Michelin In Your Pocket series, which has itineraries and travel advice for weekend getaways.

The Michelin guides are printed in English and French, so be careful when ordering these guides. Unless you can read French, make sure you select the Michelin guide in the English version.
